Bandnews.org loses weight through Ajax
August 29th, 2005
The old page was nice and handy for its time but we figured there are a lot of improvements that can be made. So we have been working on a completely new version based on the welcome page of Bandnews.org. Check it out here.
The user interface has been undergoing a heavy reconstruction, so have the band pages in general. The site is now cleaner, faster to load and most importantly easier to use.
New features include a faster user interface which provides instant reaction by using Javascript. This is now possible due to the widely supported function called XmlHttpRequest. It allows client-server-communication while the currently loaded page remains unchanged. This technique is nowadays refered to as AJAX (Asynchonous JAvascript with Xml).

Arabic Spam Missile Misses Target
July 1st, 2005
Time and again we are wondering where this new piece of spam comes
from that drops in our mailbox every morning. But unlike eSpam real
spam is even more annoying to sort out. I recently got a mailing
promoting some kind of arabic(!?) telecommunication service. Yawn.
Where did they get my real address? (rhetorical question)
Probably from some domain registrar’s website, like Networksolutions.
Anyway, I do not speak Arabic nor am I living in an Arabic speaking country. Go away with your spam! Get your spam at least targeted.

Terrible Eye Infection
June 17th, 2005
I must have gotten a tiny grain of sand into my eye while in Marseille because after getting back to Berlin, my left eye looked like this. Fucked up.

Bonjour de Marseille, France, Cote Azur, St. Tropez (Photos)
June 10th, 2005
It’s been a long time since I last spoke French but when I arrived in Marseille everything was fine. Leon, the friend I was visiting, picked me up and I could get a good first impression of Marseille by night. After a couple of days in Marseille we drove to the Provence, Cote d’Azur, St. Tropez and all the other great culture, beach and mountain spots. It was a great week and I’d love to go back there again soon. The flight from Berlin to Paris and the TGV (325 km/h) train don’t cost that much and with a little bit experience you also get good food for cheap money in this more expensive country.
