Bandnews.org, the music news aggregator has some cool, new features which I wanted to point out. You can now customize your music news without registering to give it a try. If you want to watch more than 5 bands you can register for free for a total of 100 bands. This also enables you to use the RSS feed syndication feature.

Another new feature is the News by Date Calendar used to display news from a specific day, month, year with a simple click.

I was sitting in an Indian Restaurant the other day and drank a mango juice poured in a glass branded with Looza.
Interesting as the brand name sounds more like a hiphop-flavored slang
word (Looser -> Looza) than a tasty beverage. After a little bit of
research I found out the company was founded in Belgium, exists since
1948 and was bought by PepsiCo in 1998. Don’t they know what Looza
means or are they intentionally playing with the name?

I’ve visited the Karneval der Kulturen 2005, a street-party with over 100 trucks from all kinds of nations presenting their culture and music. The Carneval took place in the multi-cultural district Kreuzberg and went from early afternoon till late at night. Relaxing. More Pictures for you to see here.

Some funny pics so you can see what’s happening on the streets of Berlin

That happens when a government is cutting costs: the longest queue I’ve ever waited in. Not even the Franz Ferdinand concert last year attracted so many people that one had to wait for one hour. As you can see the line is even going outside of the bulding. Ah!

Maybe some of you remember my picture series from last summer about “From Punk to Chic: Why Dogshit in Berlin isn’t a problem anymore”. If you don’t it doesn’t matter. The fact is people here in Friedrichshain must have gotten pretty pissed off with dogshit as they initiated another fun and typical Berlin-style project: “Reclaim the streets” . Everybody is invited to create a dogshit-free zone in front of his house. It just started yesterday but already a lot of stinky dogshit has been replaced by a lot of smelly flowers. Mhm, that’s better!

There is a very interesting exhibition about the works of Stanley Kubrick at the Martin Gropius Bau, Berlin - showcased are his popular but also less known movies with detailed information about the process of creating the sceneries, music and technical aspects. Kubrick-fans, Movie-fans and arty people should have a look before it's too late. The exhibition is running till April 18th 2005. More information (german)
